Zero Emission Buses — Depot Definition Design supports the transition of the NSW bus fleet to zero emissions. FR2 assisted Transport for NSW with depot definition design, working with FutureRail.
Electrifying a bus fleet is largely a depot problem. Existing depots were built for refuelling, not for charging: the work involves grid connection and substation capacity, charger layout, how buses move through the yard between charging and service, and how all of it is built while the depot keeps dispatching services every morning. Definition design is where those constraints are established.
