Kiama to Bomaderry

The project

The Kiama to Bomaderry project addresses the South Coast line south of Kiama, where the railway runs as a single track. FR2 contributed planning support for Transport for NSW.

Single-track sections govern how often services can run, because trains can only pass one another where a crossing loop or duplicated section exists. Any change to that arrangement has to be built while the line keeps running, which makes possession strategy and staging central from the outset rather than a delivery-phase concern.
